Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr
SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling :aww:
I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^
It'll be my first contest that I've held...EVER! So it's very exciting :3
So, about the theme of the contest. Well whenever I've felt down and blue because I've been slapped upside the head with an art block, I like to wallow in self pity and blast my favourite tunes XD (LOL) It's extremely therapeutic :P and it really does help to inspire me with new ideas :D.
A perfect example would be my OC's Medi-kate & Black Nova, both created from inspiration from music.

Gen V... What yah think?

(First of all, rather impressive Marble Orb Weaver spider this morning on the window, should upload a pick sometime...)

So, once again, Nintendo churns out another batch of Pokémon. 156 new guys, bringing us up to a grand total of 649, I believe. Not counting alternate forms.

Stat wise, it's chaos. I loves these things, but that doesn't change the fact that everything is packing ridiculous offenses. It's going to take a while for those folks at Shoddy to settle down, once Shoddy Battle is updated. I'm gonna enjoy watching this.

Some opinions so far...

- <3 Zoroark. Not so big a fan of the method required to get her. For those who do not know, you need to transfer some Event Legendaries (Shiny colored Entei, Suicune, or Raikou) from HG/SS into Black/White. If they are distributed via Wi-Fi again, I'm screwed. Neither of my DS's is able to access Wi-Fi of any sort, for some reason. Also, you need to transfer over an Event Celibi over to get Zoroa. Why can't we just get an Egg, like Riolu in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum?

- Denchura's Pre-Evo is one of the cutest things I've ever seen.

- Starter's final Evo's are something of a disappointment, but I've warmed up to Jaroda (Grass) and Daikenki (Water). Emboar (Fire) still isn't impressing me much, though... and I had just started considering Pokabu as my starter, too.

- Tabunne doesn't evolve. T_T I was hoping for her to evolve, but looks like she won't get much use. Still don't get why everyone hated her...

- HOLIGA LOOKS LIKE A DISK ANT FROM FRAGMENT!!! I FREAKING LOVE THAT THING!!!

- Kill Gear and the Ice Cream Cone with Fire and Holy Water. Just kill them... Please...

- Shibirudon is Epic. Looks like Gwoemul, I have GOT to get one for my In-game team in White...

- Lots of Dragons, nuff' said.

- Some Legendaries are cool, others meh. Hate the Dinjin/Genie/Whatever you want to call them... but if those wheels on their sprites spin, I would love that.

- We have got Mothra and King Ghidorah. Again, nuff' said.

I'll probably try to get both Black and White, but White will be my main game. I'm excited for the game's release stateside, and while I don't like everything about it (Again, KILL the Gear and Ice cream cone!), Everything else released so far more that makes up for those things.
